3 day Upvc/Composite/Window course May

Service Description

A comprehensive 3 day course focused on all things doors and windows. Day 1: Doors Toe and heeling properly, removing/replacing hinges, deglazing safely, measuring and replacing blown units, setting composite doors correctly on hinges, learning how to adjust properly the most common upvc/composite hinges out there, realigning composite doors, repinning your own cylinders to key alike for french doors, replacing worn gaskets, removing glass where the mullion has been internally screwed, fitting letterboxes and lots more Day 2: Windows Deglazing sashes, opening failed mechs, working through different window mechs, replacing top and side hung hinges, fitting restrictors to top and side hung sashes, using a window support for upstairs windows to make repairs and more Day 3: Mechanisms Fault finding and opening failed mechanisms in a variety of ways depending on failure, replacing trickier gearboxes, opening composite mechanisms with only one entrance, opening failed auto locking mechanisms and lots more This course will be 90% practical and hands on, all tools will be provided and there is doors and windows for everyone to work on including upvc, composite, auto locking composite and side & top hung windows. All students will be given a laminated upvc bible to take home which includes many hints and tips plus diagrams on how to adjust all the common hinges.
